What happens during your first visit?
During your first visit I will ask you questions about your lifestyle and the presenting problem or area of development. I will use this meeting to assess the benefits of hypnotherapy for you as an individual. I will then discuss a proposed plan of treatment and will arrange for you to attend for a further appointment. Prior to your next appointment I will have prepared a hypnosis script particularly for you based on the information that I have obtained at the first visit.
What is hypnotherapy?
The term hypnosis is derived from the Greek word Hypnos meaning ‘sleep’ and the state of hypnosis is very similar to the feeling you have just before you fall asleep at night.
During a hypnotherapy session I will ask you to make yourself comfortable on a couch within a private room. I will then gently talk to you until you reach a state of relaxation. When you are relaxed I will implant the ideas into your mind that are required in order to bring about the necessary change in your behaviour.
You will be fully aware and in control throughout the session but you will find that in this altered state of consciousness you are particularly responsive to my ideas.
